Woodturner/ hobbyist, gamer. Hopefully this platform is better then X.
Red oak platter. It started as a 9" bowl blank. But had some rotten wood in it. So I had to turn it down to get past that spot. It is super thin and needs some cracks stabilized.

Two bowls I made this weekend the first is Box Elder and the second is Holly. The Holly has chainsaw cuts on it and there was no way to get rid of them. But I feel it came out better then the Box Elder one #woodturning #turning #woodworking.

Spotted three owls in my yard today. They appeared this morning and we're still hanging around by the evening. We identified them as being Barred Owls. I think at least one might have been a juvenile. But not being an expert, I could be wrong. #wildlife #owls #BarredOwls.

Two bowls I turned and finished this weekend. One is Chinaberry and the other is spalted ornamental cherry. Both are a bit on the small size, so won't work for Empty Bowls. #woodworking #lathe #turning.

Chinaberry wans I made for a coworker who is retiring. She loves Harry Potter. It's very loosely based on one from the movies. #woodturning #woodworking #wand.

I replaced the bearings in my lathe. Just the two that sit on either end of the spindle. I don't know if they really needed replacement. But I think it has improved things a bit. The old ones dated from 1989, when the lathe was bought.

Small Leyland Cypress bowl I turned the other day. Also one that will go to Empty Bowls. #woodturning #bowls

The lastest bowl I finished Friday. Pretty sure it is poplar. The blank had that written on it anyway. This one is destined for the local Empty Bowls. #woodturning #wood

Made a small box with a red cedar lid. This was an experiment, since I have never made one before. It came out well enough.

A small Red cedar bowl I turned today. It lack the vibrant red/purple because it's such old wood. #wood #turning #bowl

A bowl and a lid, I need to make a finial for the lid. It's an attempt at a lidded bowl...but it could be better. The wood is Camphor, and it seemed very strongly while I turned it. Made my eyes sting a little bit. #woodbowl #woodtirning #wood

This old retired book cart is now mine to take apart and use the parts to glue up some bowl blanks. It would make a really good bookcase also. But we have enough of those.

Volunteered to do a presentation for my Woodworkers guild. It going to be on making spoons. I don't feel qualified to teach any of the other members anything. They are all older then me and have been woodworkers for far longer.

This interruption of wood turning is brought to you by cold temperatures and a cat who LOVES carrot bags. No idea what he likes about them, but they are treated as if there is catnip on them. #cats

It is now officially too cold to work in my workshop. So no more bowls or pens till the weather warms up again.

My second pen. This one ended up a bit thicker then I would like. It is Rosewood, the kind that you can't get anymore. I got it as a chunk of mystery wood from my grandfather's workshop. Used a CA finish on it. #wood #penturning #woodturning

This is the first pen I have made. Took me a few days to figure out the process for making it. It's black walnut. There are some issues. The finish being one. #woodturning #pens #wood

Spalted Oak bowl. Really happy with how this one polished up. Still feel like I could have gotten the sides thinner though. #wood #woodturning #bowl.
