Playwright, artist, co-owner of zero-waste store The Eco Flamingo and Market Cafe. Native NYer happily living in Chicago (it smells better here). Wishing we weren't fighting Nazis in 2025.
Afternoon kitty snuggle with the fosters is becoming a favorite (and therapeutic) pastime. I also love how you can see Ophelia's tabby stripes in this photo.

The only way to cope with a cold, gray, windy Chicago morning like this. Props to the hubs for having this lit before I even got out of bed. ❤️

For Caturday may I present my foster kitties. I suspect they're getting far more attached to me than is a good idea. I hope the shelter takes them back soon.

I've never thought of myself as an adrenaline junkie, but when we visited Iceland in September I kept thinking how sad it was that there were never going to be any bears on the trail. Like this bear that followed us for a while outside of Valdez, AK.

I got 2 emails today reminding me I'm a playwright.
And then I lifted a shit-ton of food and a shit-ton of soap to remind myself that I'm also a small business owner.

Not my image, but an impactful Photoshop job.

Me forgetting to hold the camera still while looking for the Aurora. Similar effect. 🤣

Northern Lights barely visible in Chicago out over the lake.

While we're patrolling the streets at school dismissal time, watching for ICE, we need to remember to look at the trees and inhale the colors. They'll be gone soon.

This is a photo a friend's sister in CT took off her front walk. Not gonna lie. I'm a little envious. The only critters that eat my pumpkins are squirrels and chipmunks.

Who's ruining the rat hole?!
(One of my partner's coworkers made me rat hole cookie cutters last year. This is the smaller one which is less practical and I plan to make it into a Christmas ornament this year.)

My partner dragged this thing out of an alley and has refinished it. This was halfway through.
(It also came with a shit ton of rusty tools that he's cleaning.)

This photo is from yesterday, but I saved it for Saturday. I think I need to get her a cat bed.

I've always loved him. That said, my favorite film (aside from the flashback sequence which is painful) is Casablanca. I'd watch it just for the lighting and cinematography.

I took mine from a little farther away.

I appreciate this statement by the WGA. #freespeech

Through wet car window because no I did not want to hang out in that.

One of the great things about visiting new places is seeing how the clouds form differently. Yesterday, which happened to be #CloudAppreciationDay on BlueSky, Iceland showed how it likes to have 2 different weather systems going at the same time.

Clouds can really add some dynamic oomph to an already impressive sight. This is Snæfellsjokull in Iceland. #CloudAppreciationDay
(Thanks for the heads up @sophiecarr.bsky.social )

From yesterday in Snæfellsjokull. The day was trying to decide if it was going to be sunny or not. Opted for cloudy and rainy on the north side of the peninsula and sunny and windy on the south side.

A little Airbnb surprise in Iceland. Vanda jumped onto our sofa from the window a few minutes ago. Our host assured us she's a spoiled-yet-tougg town kitty who could be set back out in the rain once we were done playing with her

REALLY #TJMaxx?! These are the featured boys Halloween costumes? Read the room.

A missing older woman in my town was found alive today, so I'm calling that a win. Also, I saw some weird ass shit when I was walking and riding around looking for her. This car is an example.
