This is such a lazy dismissal of these issues. The Bolshevik leaders were intelligent readers and theorists. There is no excuse to justify their abusive policies especially the Kronstadt suppression where they knew better. they literally didn’t even grant worker autonomy. This is unacceptable.

And how did that work out for these workers? Attempting to control and micromanage policy across a huge territory for every locality is unworkable, unsustainable, and incentivizes a “shoot first ask questions later” model of suppression

This author also ventures so far as to call the 1905 Revolution a "bourgeois revolution." The strongest evidence I've seen for this idea was the eventual Kronstadt Rebellion of 1921. I'm pretty confident in saying that USSR "communism" definitely had gone to shit by 1921, but idk when exactly yet
