The Atlanta Braves today announced two additions to their coaching staff for the 2026 season. Tony Mansolino will join the club as the major league third base coach, while J.P. Martinez will serve as the major league bullpen coach.

Atlanta Braves Announce Additions to 2026 Major League Coaching Staff:
The Atlanta Braves today announced two additions to their coaching staff for the 2026 season. Jeremy Hefner will join the club as the major league pitching coach, while Antoan Richardson will serve as the major league first base coach. Hefner, 39, spent the previous six seasons as the pitching coach for the New York Mets. Throughout his tenure, the Mets pitching staff earned six All-Star selections, posted the sixth-best ERA (4.02), gave up the fourth-fewest hits and garnered the fifth-most strikeouts of any National League club. Richardson, 42, served the last two seasons as the first base coach, outfield coordinator and baserunning instructor for the Mets. Under his guidance in 2025, the club led MLB in stolen base percentage (89.1%), ranking seven points higher than the next-closest club.

#Braves Name Walt Weiss as Major League Manager:
The Atlanta Braves today named Walt Weiss as the 49th manager in franchise history after spending the previous eight seasons as the club’s major league bench coach. Weiss, who previously served as manager for the Colorado Rockies, has twice been a World Series champion: first as a player with the Oakland Athletics in 1989, then as the Braves’ bench coach in 2021. Weiss, 61, has been a part of the Braves organization for 11 seasons as both a player and coach. He began his tenure as Atlanta’s bench coach in 2018, helping lead the club to a 680-513 record (.570), second-best in the National League and fourth-best in Major League Baseball. Since Weiss joined the staff, the Braves have made seven postseason appearances, earned six National League East division titles, and won the 2021 World Series.
