That's totally true! But I think at Pax U I remembered something important; I sat down and I played games with strangers. by the end, we were laughing and comfortable. I forgot how playing together makes it so easy to start making friends! While overwhelming sometimes, that simple joy meant a lot 💕

Of course no place is perfect, and you'll have people who aren't respectful or inclusive in any space your a part of, but generally, I was surprised at how comfortable I was in the TTRPG space even though I barely knew anything about it. I really am enjoying exploring! also games are fun LMAO 4/?

But what really took me by surprise was the inclusivity and support in the space! With the gender affirming signs around PAX U, I saw the sentiment of inclusion echoed in everyone I spoke with. Things like safety tools, lines and veils, etc foster such an environment of respect 3/?

I think because of the nature of games, the community is inherently more collaborative. I was blown away by the support and kindness of everyone I spoke with. People wanted to hear about your games and experiences and work, and were willing to make connections with everyone 2/?

I'm super super new to the trrpg community; I started my first game a few months ago (fabula ultima!) and Pax U was my first real immersion into the community. As someone who primarily navigates the anime/cosplay community, I found ttrpg extremely refreshing! 1/?

This was such an awesome part of con!!! Literally was such a fun place to chill, play games, do side quests, and of course drink some redbull >:3c a huge thank you to everyone who helped put this on!!
