So it looks like hot dogs for Thanksgiving but the Virginia brand chicken dogs.
A mostly blu colored package of Virginia brand chicken hot dogs which we find to taste a little better than the other brands. Chicken dogs are big sellers here due to the large concentration of Muslims for whom chicken is halal but pork is haram.

That's pretty. Man, I had to sell all my knives except 3 and I tried to sell the fixed blade Jungle Training D2 steel micarta scaled one and no one here could afford it.

A lot of our neighbors are Baptists and I like to watch them walk by on Sunday mornings together, dressed in their best, as they go to and come from church. It's nice. Even for a non-believer.

Shopping for meat at the market is a subject that most expat writers cover early and often.

It ain't like back home, kids.

There's very little wrapped meat at most supermarkets. Chicken and pork are piled into cold cases sometimes with ice, sometimes not. (Sometimes not in the case at all!)
In SM Surpermarket in Davao City, Philippines, half-chickens and breasts on the bone are displayed on ice in stacked rows. Buyers take a plastic bag from the rolls provided and choose their items with tongs that are also provided. Three such display cases are shown. In the distance at the end of the cases is an attendant who will weigh the bags and apply price stickers. Not shown are the three or four other attendants who are parting up chickens.There are also attendants who tie, weigh, and put a price sticker on the bag for you. Four human torso-sized hunks of pork are lined up atop a cold case. There's a store worker cutting the meat into pieces that will will be placed in the open cold case itself and piles of pork parts are seen in divided spaces in the cold case. A pair of tongs is slipped over the front glass of the case. Other tongs for picking out your own meat lay on top of the divided piles.

Luffa, silk gourd or patola (pahtohLAH) or sikwa (seekWAH).

Mushy, dare I say "snotty", neutral flavor, nutritious. Good source of A, Bs and C as well as fiber.

My wife grew these.

Cooked with anything, they make a good soup or a quick stew.
In a round, green plastic pan are more than four foot-long veg shaped much like zucchini or bottle gourd. They are light green, somewhat wrinkly with cream colored dashes running their lengths.
