This effect plagues planetary astronomers. Images of Mars from orbiters are the *worst* because you don’t know what direction the Sun is in. You’re trying to interpret the image and suddenly notice all the craters are buttons and your brain freaks so bad that even rotating the image doesn’t help.

A lovely fungus on a stump in my neighborhood.
Looking straight down at a stump that is covered by fungus growing in concentric, ruffled shapes… maybe turkey tail mushrooms? There is a plant with broad blade like leaves at the upper right of the frame.

In South Carolina Sean-Michael Johnson was charged with kidnapping and impersonating an ICE agent after detaining a group of Latino men. Leon Howell told a 51-year-old hispanic woman in Brooklyn he was an ICE agent and directed her to a nearby stairwell where he punched her, tried to rape her and stole her chain, cell phone and purse. In North Carolina, Carl Bennett Jr. impersonated an ICE agent and threatened to deport a woman if she did not have sex with him. If the people apprehending you don't tell you who they are, won't tell you why you're being arrested, and their only uniform is a mask, how are you supposed to know the difference between a criminal and a law-officer?
