I get the sentiment - I do. I'm sorry for what your sons and your family have gone through, but I also need to extend that towards the Martins and Cramers. We only know what's been in the press, and I've seen self-medication with drugs for mental health symptoms way too many times in my job. :(

I will not fault Senator Cramer for the actions of his son. Addiction is hell to work with, and hell on the family.

Quite true. My main issue is that Medicare does not cover addiction treatment. So much trauma work also involves supporting clients in their self-medication with substance use. Not everyone on Medicare plans are 65+, and even then it basically says "You're old? You're not addicted. Take off."

Medicare is important, and good luck actually making any changes that would benefit recipients. But as a therapist, I have to say the coverage _stinks_ for mental health, and doesn't cover addiction services at all. Not to mention the recipient liability if you have Medicaid creates a huge barrier

As a therapist, I am absolutely _terrified_ for my clients with the incoming administration. Removing some of the things that literally keep people alive... Even the things that are not life and death ARE. Desperation impacts functioning, childhood development - just look at the ACES study.

It's not just Twitter. My Facebook Reels were always just things that were in my hobbies. Not even any politics. After the election I'm getting fed a steady stream of "So happy for the election!" and "I'm so glad I let my husband tell me who to vote for!" garbage. So many reports...
