Yes, very sorry. Trauma has such a way of shifting our perspective because that was the perspective we had when we were younger during those events. It’s a total process to shape that perspective when we enter adulthood. I found this also to be the hardest part to work on in my recovery.

yeah, I have found this difficult in recovering from two narcissistic parents that conditioned me to always have their approval. On top of my trauma and abuse at six years old, this only compounded the problem.

Children are not scapegoats. Children are not emotional dumpsters. Children are not stand-ins for someone else’s unhealed pain.

And anyone who tells you otherwise is avoiding the real truth, which is this… adults are fully responsible for the damage they cause, the words they speak, and the wounds they leave.
