This is where research methodologies, participant inclusion, full end-to-end patient feedback testing in the development process, etc. are crucial beyond just strategy. Not saying your rollout was, but so many times "inclusion" is performative or isn't taken far enough. #HITsm #ViVEvent24

I have MANY questions, too! It's great to hear those stakeholders were present. Too often, that is not the case. In 2023, we worked on some diverse research that highlights retail and other patient attitudes . The trust concerns alone were alarming enough. #HITsm

💯Total execution fail. And to beat @thegr8chalupa.bsky.social's drum, it could have been mitigated if we designed with patients, caregivers, consumers, tech, and providers all in the same room. As far as execution fails go, this one is pretty epic and seemingly avoidable. 😬 #HITsm #VivEvent25

Here's one of many examples of this impacting entire geographies and socioeconomic statuses. www.forbes.com/sites/brucej...

And in many communities across Chicago, the rushed business strategy to deliver primary care. Patients and caregivers showed up. But when margins weren't there, neither were the stories. Leaves thousands who rely on those clinics to find it elsewhere or forego it altogether. #HITsm #ViVeEvent25

Fair question. I am talking about co-located clinical services with retail stories. The definition is limited strategically speaking. While popular in theory, they are also closing doors far too quickly. And in many communities, this removes a tool from patients/caregivers who need them. #HITsm

Absolutely. To @healthythinkerjsk.bsky.social's point. It's simply just good omni-channel care. Home, work, retail, clinic, hospital, commute, on your body. Meeting patients and caregivers where they are (literally) is empathy in action. #HITsm #VivEvent25

Self and preventive care is it, Jane! Absolutely. And building ecosystems that integrate data that health consumers can understand/feel empowered by and apply in care environments they feel comfortable is in and of itself a form of empowerment/interoperability, too! #HITsm #VivEvent25

Retail works for my routine care, not chronic. But I also don't have stigmatized conditions where going into my corner all-in-one store is traumatic. And these services are very helpful to those who are able to trust them. It's hard enough to win/earn trust in traditional care environments. #HITsm

The retail health "experiment" coming back to bite us is a prime example of how we didn't do our homework when thinking about broadly assuming patients and caregivers needed/wanted/found value in these experiences before going all in. Tech comes with its own host of examples, too. #HITsm #ViVEvent25

Yes! In what other industry is it this "acceptable" to create so much friction for people who are at their most vulnerable. The marketer/UX brain is so overwhelmed how simple, yet impactful, the little things. Empathy shouldn't be an innovation. But sadly, it's a "differentiator" #HITsm #ViVEvent25

Comes down to EARNING trust—especially in the era of AI:
- Data Privacy
- Tech & Data Transparency
- Point of Care
- Access to Services

Ethical erosion, distrust in science, mis/disinformation isn't helping matters either. Leaders need to address the trust gap to meet the moment #HITsm #ViVEvent25

🎯The lip service is equally exhausting as it is typical. We're obsessed with "innovation" all the while our primary stakeholders' needs go unaddressed or fall in priority to whims of product owners, designers, and yes, the marketers, too. If now isn't a time to be brave, when is? #HITsm #ViVEvent25
