A bizarre and tragic incident from Sumba Island. In Southwest Sumba in a small creek a woman was killed by a crocodile while washing clothes. Her son was also killed while searching for her. Fatal incident in Sri Lanka's Eastern Province near Crocodile Rock in Pottuvil. Both saltwater crocs and muggers can be found in this area, making ID of the culprit difficult, since both prey upon humans. At Crocodile Rock the vast majority appear to be muggers- sinhala.adaderana.lk/news/203852

Very serious (amputation) caiman attack in Brazil. It would seem suggestive of Melanosuchus, but I am not certain if the species is found in this area. A large (2-2.5m) Caiman crocodilus could hypothetically inflict such wounds- portalnortebrasil.com.br/noticia/1062...
