My partner asked if there is a math thing to describe which branches are the most likely to break due to snow loads: horizontal, upward, or downward sloping. I didn't have an actual answer, but my mind immediately went to Euler beams: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euler%E... 🧪🧮

Lie's Structural Approach to PDE Systems by Olle Stormark

A very understandable presentation of how old masters like Lie, Darboux, Vessiot, and Cartan thought about differential equations from a geometric perspective. It was a lifesaver during my PhD, and continues to be an excellent reference!
