I wasn't even thinking of the instrument choices, but yeah, it's pretty similar to the poppier end of 2007-09 indie (quite different to '05-07 indie) a few years later. I was thinking, it's about the sort of things that seem rebellious and shocking to pre-teens, in a cheeky and fun way.
