Death Stranding
It may not be underrated critically, but “walking simulator” is how I think most people view this game. I’m all about the Kojima weirdness, it’s a beautiful game, the strand system is unique and the combat is fun - underrated for sure.

Psycho Mantis
He’s not the main antagonist of Metal Gear Solid, but that doesn’t matter. His mind reading gimmick was awesome, and using the 2nd controller port to defeat him is one of the coolest 4th wall breaks of all time.

Favorite Protagonist - Link
I got hooked on Zelda playing Link’s Awakening DX. Prior to that I had really just stuck to platformers and after going on that first adventure as Link it really shaped my taste in games. And that’s why he’s my boy.

Day 7 - Favorite Multiplayer/ MMO
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I’m gonna say Destiny. This game had a lot of fun and challenging content for when my group and I wanted it, along with a lot of enjoyable grindy stuff we could do with having a conversation

Fallout: New Vegas
This was a no brainer.New Vegas has all of these small stories you can uncover, many of them told just through the environment alone. The notes and even how items and skeletons are placed really tell us a lot about the world before and after the bombs

That’s right, Metal Gear. As in,Solid Snake infiltrating Outer Haven and destroying his first Metal Gear.
I know Kojima isn’t involved, but I’m a sucker for MG and would. Love to see that story fleshed out to fill in the gaps between MGS:V and MGS.

Baldur’s Gate 3
Bounced off of this hard when it released, despite really wanting to enjoy it. I came back around to it with my wife and it’s finally clicking.

This might be under the influence of recency bias, but I’m struggling to think of a boss I’ve thrown myself at longer. Hyper aggressive, hits like a tank, and just a lot of moves that are a real pain in the ass.

Elden Ring. Clocking in around ~300ish hours. This accounts for one full base game play through, a full base game + Erdtree DLC. Both if those runs were done with a hefty dose of co-op with my wife so there was a lot of “ok now let’s do that for you”. Great times.

Star Wars for the Gameboy. I remember my parents got me a silver Gameboy pocket for Christmas. I want to say they thought it already had games on it, so we ended up picking this up shortly after. Rough pick for a first game. Followed it up with Super Mario Land 2.
