Eu nem queria entrar aqui, mas o pessoal interessante veio para cá.
True that, and we in the streets here are still struggling to understand how our leaders did it.

Shapiro sounded like a person who would storm out a visa request interview.

Dude learned what he should have defended in 2024 (except, uh, a very relevant poinr he reeeeally wants us to forget).

TBF as a Brazilian moderately curious about IR, I am intrigued by how influential we apparently are these days.

Brazil aspired for more relevance globally for a long time, but appeared to never get very far.

Now with Trump, we got some surprising victories. There is so much to unpack.

After all, Milei's main delivery was a $20 bi bill. He probably doesn't want more of that and noticed most of those are Chalabi-like sycophants.

It would be too expensive to plant so many Bukeles, and he could get a lot from the existing leaders regardless of ideology. He will favor far-right candidates, and will have some victories (cf. Kast) but he will be less forceful.

But after learning many were inept (e.g. Bolsonaros), facing high costs (s.a. Argentinian bailout) and successfully negotiate with left-labeled leaders (Lula, Venezuelan military), Trump is recalculating the route.

If you spare me a layman's take...

Trump's 1st approach to the Donroe Doctrine was putting far-right politicians all over Latin America. All that investment in Milei was one step to get a continent full of Bukeles.

I mean, she got very far by cheek-kissing.

Dude, they shoot unarmed people.

What do you think will happen when someone approaches them with a phone? Are you aware you need to hold the cam still for a time to read a QR code?

Jesus Christ, Richie, what the hell are you talking about?

Reminds me that, a few days ago, Bennett gave an interview for a Brazilian reporter.

Before the interview, the reporter reiterated the importance of the two-state solution, how Netanyahu hinders it etc.

The interviewer's shock with Bennett's answers was unjustified, of course, but hilarious.

E nesse caso redescobriram a roda quadrada.

As a layman in a far away place, I was stunned. That was it? An entire region would be ethnically cleansed and nobody would care? I thought I was missing something back then.

This is just appalling. Just imagine someone's presence is considered "culturally sensitive" for not what they defend, but for their ethnicity. No surprise Lousie Adler, the director, gave up, even being Jewish.

I think a key turning point when the danger that @giuliapiccolino.bsky.social and others were warning about arrived was Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020 and 2023, as @laurencebroers.bsky.social argued here.

Russia and Israel were definitely paying attention, even if most of the world wasn't.
The Nagorno-Karabakh Wars Are Over, but Their Fallout Will Be Lasting
Armenia and Azerbaijan’s conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh is now over. Its impact is just beginning to be felt.

Vi a camiseta, o infográfico, fiz uma busca rápida, vi a cara do sujeito e, por um momento, me perguntei se não era uma esquete do Diego Capusotto.
