My yard is a beast to mow. Only 1/3 of an acre… but mowing it on foot and going around all my precious plant beds can be overwhelming lol. This is part of my sunny area in the back.

Sunny dry area? Don’t want anything tall? I highly recommend Cleft Phlox! It’s so cute. Early bloomer!

I love native plants. I’m in Illinois so my yard is home of a lot of the wonderful options. These are Virginia Bluebells. They are definitely some of the earliest bloomers. This photo was taken the other day. I have them growing in dappled shade near a downspout where they can be a little damp.

I rarely buy things at the store or online. Most of the time I find what I need on marketplace! Bought some much needed new shoes. 🥰

So excited my Eastern Redbud has flower buds this year. I planted it 2 or 3 years ago. Past years it would grow leaves… but this is the first year for blooms.

My silverware has seen the garbage disposal a few times. Anyone ever smooth them back out themselves? Haven’t looked into it yet. If you have any tips… please share! ☺️

Obviously, I did not make these blankets… but I crochet and in the past, I would pick all the soft fancy acrylic and polyester yarns. Now, when I crochet I’ll choose 100% cotton or wool. Something more gentle on environment. Being intentional feels good. Actually, “Intentional” is my word for 2025.

My mother in law made me some flannel cotton napkins. Just sharing because I love reducing waste. They wash up nice too. She quilts, so these were made with scraps of clearance flannel she already had. Do you use similar cloths to cut back on waste too? 🌎
