Desk at the start of July. The real project is the baby kraken, but I'm still building inertia by base coating piddly dudes. The P3 paint set from Kickstarter arrived, and so far they're fantastic.

I have a difficult time building energy to do things, and often waste time puttering about. Here, I’m trying to build inertia by painting an undercoat of what will be Martian terrain, using some shitty paint I’m trying to get rid of. It’s brain-dead simple and helps get me back into a painting mood.

The special carrier for the Eva was a quick build. It’s uh… a “Crosstype Cargo Transport.” Sure.

I gave Blue Prince a lot of love and it was great to be part of the zeitgeist, but I really have to celebrate Lorelei and the Laser Eyes for instantly becoming one of my favorite puzzle games. Simogo has such a great catalog of games.

This Unit-01 has been sitting unfinished for a while, so I wrapped it up. No fancy painting, just gluing non-movable parts, some 3rd-party decals, and a satin varnish. I’m still blown away by the engineering of these model kits. I have a special stand for this, but that’s for another time.

From grey goo to statue. Originally meant as a Christmas 2023 gift, but a lot’s happened since then. I at least made it in time for Amber’s birthday. This is Harrow from The Locked Tomb series, sculpted by 3dsqulpts.

Exhaling so hard now. Toothpick helped with the pupils, but it definitely took a few tries. There’s a few sets of wonky eyes under those layers of paint. Slight red wash for a bloodshot look.

Channeling my inner goth gf. Need to re-do that upper lip though; this super-thin brush-work is tough.

Okay, I get the hype for Blue Prince now. I love a game I have to play with a notebook, e.g. Fez, Tunic, especially if they have Rosetta Stone moments that suddenly illuminate deeper layers of the puzzle. I normally hate roguelikes and drafting mechanics, but it works well here.

Cape and second layer of bones done; still need to clean up after dry brushing. Getting close. Saving the hardest part for last.
