The poppy definitely dwarfs it though! I keep trying to encourage it to grow the other direction so it doesn't affect the light the ceanothus is getting, but it's determined. Ha ha

I should have placed an object in there for scale. The ceanothus is still pretty small, less than 2 feet tall and wide, I reckon.

This plant is one of my faves! I used to see them all the time back home in the Sierra foothils near Tahoe. I have yet to see them here in the south bay though.
