Pulp Fiction At Open Book

Since the Open Book Festival is starting in a few days, here's a showcase from 10 years ago, when nearly 25 000 books were used to build temporary art installations in the festival's venues.
In 2013 during the Open Book festival masses of books were used to build an art installation in a congregational hall that was converted into a small theatre. The books are piled against the back wall, beautifully lit from below, while authors take part in an event in front of them.

Blank Books Woodstock: A Final Goodbye

In 2022 Blank Books Woodstock, an independent book store in CPT, closed. We didn't want this story to be forgotten due to its role in the South African comics scene.
