![Context: Hollow Knight fanfiction on Ao3 called "Ethnoentomology: Silksong", written in the style of Disco Elysium.
The main character, who named himself "Chance" after having forgotten his previous name upon crossing the barrier all around Hallownest that wipes the mind completely, was infected by The Radiance. In the short time he was infect by Her, he was absolute ripped through in ways not possible by anything other a god could. She messed with his mind, messed with his body, messed with his soul, fracturing his psyche.
His mind is split into many different pieces thanks to Her, and is still recovering years later. He basically has a super fictionalized split-personality thing, and is not supposed to be realistic to actual split-personality disorders.
Even his Focus, his Main Power, has developed sort of its own personality, that's how messed up his Soul is.
