@daniellesmithab.bsky.social Is this initiative good for the people of Alberta? We already have a strong economy. Do we need $100B of revenue at the further expense of all the things the oil and gas industry has been damaging for the last century? Or is it maybe time to fix things instead?

@daniellesmithab.bsky.social what's the plan for mitigating harm these data centres will do to communities and the environment? How much revenue will they generate post-construction? And how much of that, if any, will be dedicated to preventing harm and compensating communities?

We are already seeing impacts of pollution from data centres on surrounding communities (www.politico.com/news/2025/05...). In a province that does continuous harm to Indigenous communities via the oil and gas industry, what's going to stop these data centres from perpetuating that?
