Flashback Friday to that time I was at the Banque de France with some nobility and part of the Bonaparte family. Truly surreal.

I should be grading. But sometimes you adopt two baby rats and so you spend the afternoon getting them adjusted. I’ll grade tonight; it’s fine.

Started snowing not long after I got to work. Then it kept snowing. Now I think I’m going home early before I get stuck here.

I'm living proof that if you work hard enough, you can achieve your dreams, even with a huge detour in the way. When I first went to university, I ended the year with a 0.545 GPA and a letter telling me not to come back to school the following semester. But now, I'm a whole PhD teaching history.

Me, smelling a flower in Paris in 2021, on my last research trip of my PhD. No matter what life throws at us, take time to remember that there are beautiful things all around us. I really miss Paris.
