I still think about that a lot. And how my other Lit/Writing teachers that were men did the same and backed her up. Very strange for the small town I grew up in but I'm not complaining.

When I was in high school (around 2014) we had an English teacher who had us reading books like The Bean Trees. She did not let a single sexist "joke" fly in her class. Of course she was called a "feminazi" and had a lot of rumors spread around her, but she managed to get through to a few of us.

my siblings and I always skipped it because we were kids and it was some slow song about adult problems and there weren't any muppets around.

I think I could appreciate it now if I could find a copy with it still included, maybe an old vhs copy.

even if they get a script generated, they still have to put together a presentation that proves they actually understand what's going on. I wouldn't want this to be the standard but it's a nice change of pace

It's true, but also I do like how some of my art/film history professors have moved to video essays for intro/elective undergrad courses where the correct vocab is still on the rubric, and all the typical essay critical thinking/connections.
