Lions eventually losing a game in OT to the Jets after Ndamukong Suh doinks an extra point in the 3rd quarter of a close game (Hanson apparently was hurt) is my peak "Lions" moment.

Would anyone be upset? Abso-fucking-lutely! Sure, just strip an in-state rivalry with a ton of history/hatred so MSU can play Maryland more often, or something. That's what college football needs.
