As if the humiliation could not get any worse for the law firms that caved to Trump - "they just signed anything I put in front of them." These claim to be transactional firms, advising clients about risks. SMH.

This is correct. However, the administration is also hyping the arrest as an example of retribution against "the judiciary" so it's not surprising that people are reading this as an escalation.

Politics aside, and granting his company has a lot of money (but is notorious for stiffing contractors), can you imagine trying to represent this client?

Oh, right - Trump believes our justice system is betrayed when used to achieve political ends. And he's against weaponization and wants to protect our justice system. JFC, Paul Weiss, look who you're getting into bed with! I would have thought this firm had more fight in it. 1/x
