Agree 100%.

Well, 2003 and 2004 autumns.

IIRC, I would estimate a surprising % of my 10/10s came out just that particular autumn (2003).

Sanguisugabogg just miss the cut?

Agree. Every Country’s Sun the “weakest” for me, incidentally produced by Fridmann, who produced Great Destroyer.

Mogwai…another band that rarely, if ever, missed.

Fair to say I was too; first song I heard was Point of Disgust sr. year of high school, which destroyed me and still haunts me in the best way. Mimi and a simple piano arrangement. Then I started looking back and the obsession began. Second song I remember is Dinosaur Act.

Personal fave Low is Double Negative. Sometimes I’ll listen to a not new album and it fits my internal life perfectly, but this was the first album that fit my internal life perfectly AT THE MOMENT that it was released.

I remember how startled I was the first time I heard this one, at the time not realizing how profound an impact the producer could have on an album. Not sure an album has ever grown for me over a 20-year period like this one has.

I’ve been waiting years for this announcement.

Do most artists gain or lose on tour? Either way, 35 is a lot, man.

Agree, because I’m one of those. I didn’t like Adore at all and merely liked Machina when they came out. Now they’re probably my second and third favorite SP records. Siamese #1 due to nostalgia, of course. Came to me at the right time, when I was young.

I’m with you. Wonder how many people will go to his tea shop and spend the $400 on the vinyl, haha. I don’t know a lot of people who love this record, even in its original form.

I’m with you…it felt out of place. Not sure why he didn’t just tack it on to the end or emphasize it as extra to the record. But I really liked the song on its own. Did not like this version of the album. But it almost feels like a separate thing entirely.

Yeah the only reason I’m glad I checked it out is Speed Kills. I’d somehow never stumbled upon that track until now.

Great timing. Thanks.

“Good” is a vast understatement. Cathartic (even for a boring straight, white, cis guy), affecting, haunting (in the best way), etc.
