I have finally ticked "subscribe to @bylinetimes.bsky.social "off the to-do list. I'm sure it reflects badly on me that it took this to finally get me to do it, but thanks anyway :-) Print edition will be joining The Onion in the office canteen Reading Nook!

He looked for any pretty pictures, and counted the number of times his name was mentioned.

Yes but his objective is often not to win, but to tie up respondents in legal nonsense for years, so it's easier to settle and let him "win" rather than run up huge legal costs. He won't pay his lawyers, so there is no downside for him. He is SLAPP embodied.

Most stadiums I've been to won't allow bottles any more as they are too easy to refill (with the recycled original contents) before throwing.

"Talked about them to a hatstand who he thought was the Japanese PM"

They are immigrants, not expats (saying that really annoys them)

Mind you
"Boxy, oversized fit
Dropped shoulders
Wide neck ribbing"
sounds like me.

In my fantasy common sense world, the "major" parties look at all the poll numbers and go "hey, maybe PR isn't such a bad thing."

We went to the Science Museum last month, and while it isn't "what it was in my day" I was impressed by the communication gallery, which had a nice collection of stuff we used to have at home.
(Nothing like seeing things one used to own, or still do, in a museum to make one feel very old)

The million are regular migrants. Not housed in hotels, but hired to fill vacancies the country needed to fill, primarily in the care sector. Toryform want you to think they are "illegals" but they are not. Do not fall for it.

Do you really think that would have made a difference?

So who is going to look at millions of people marching the streets and take a stand? How can something like that be ignored? Or was it all a waste of time? I mean Trump isn't going to go "oh, look at that, maybe I'd better dial it back a bit" is he?

I just hope that this somehow convinces any half-decent Republicans in Congress to start speaking out against what the Trump administration is doing. Although I doubt it will.
