Celebratory throwback to when Burt first started licking Jake’s face (on demand, I might add).

Not all dogs are blue dogs, but if they had the franchise, I suspect all dogs would vote blue.

Little known fact: until ‘22 @justicefwdva.bsky.social was mostly volunteer led & operated (I was never paid a dime as ED)

You know what else, though? Relying on self-flagellating SJWs isn’t a sustainable business model! And fundraising is really hard!

Come for the free tacos & support CJ reform!

I amused myself with this one. Since Bluesky doesn’t do polls, feel free to treat it like one in the comments.

If you vote for a guy who unironically demands to be called “The People’s Protector,” you have no one to blame but yourself.

This person is now the top prosecutor for the Eastern District of Virginia. Holy hell.

Finally, the WaPo ed board publishes a decent opinion piece!

BUT … it’s about Taylor Swift’s engagement. Sigh.

Really well written, though! I am likewise happy for her and Travis.

And here we find the newspaper of record, WaPo, casually and implicitly endorsing proto-fascism because their own irresponsible, alarmist crime reporting has made people feel unsafe, and more likely to click on hogwash like this than learn the actual truth.

I don’t want to meet Rahm Emanuel. Even more, I don’t want a party that claims to support labor, the working class/middle class, and progressive values generally, to be inviting people to meet Rahm Emanuel.

A court appointed client for whom I earned a dismissal made me bread and homemade apple butter!

Fighting hard for someone who really needs someone on their side is the best part of this job, by far. It’s even better when you know they felt valued and cared for.

This is priceless. The lead authors of the study Miyares cited are (a) the Deputy Chief of the Salt Lake City Police Dept., (b) the former Exec. Director of the Utah Fraternal Order of Police, and; (c) a former DEA agent who’s published 4-5 papers about how racial profiling is good, actually.

Some Dems validated every ounce of fearmongering bullshit Miyares has peddled over the past 2 yrs, in an attempt to “out-cop the cops” & swing the mythical voter who’d be Blue if only Dems were more mindlessly sociopathic about crime

That this dope is still taken seriously is entirely their fault

Abigail Spanberger on stage receiving an award from a group (FOP) that unapologetically advocates on behalf of ICE, right before that same group gave an award to Kristi Noem.

To those who genuinely care about social justice, criminal justice reform & immigrants’ rights, this is insulting.

ArlNow, y’all…

a) recycling copaganda and;

b) platforming a forever candidate who averaged 22% in 8 elections over the past decade, in order to;

c) pass off a Scott Mccaffrey op-ed as “news”

ArlNow has a duty to its readers to report on reality. They fail often. Very often.

Here, let me interpret this for those who don’t speak Horseshit…

Things that worked: harm reduction.

Things that didn’t work: harsher drug laws, more toys for the cops, anything Jason Miyares has ever believed, said or done during his time in office.

Today on r/publicdefenders, aka the burnout capital of indigent defense—an ode to the virtues of caging humans if one wishes to later keep humans out of cages for a living.

Aspiring PDs, never take advice from these people.

If the truth is that those being detained aren’t violent, they love and care about their families, and they came to the US for jobs because owners & capital implicitly invited them while government looked the other way, then what does that make Youngkin? A liar? Total POS? Both (and more)?

Funny how, after embracing the darkness, democracy died.

WaPo famously refused to endorse Harris, despite her superlative centrism. Yet now they claim to know what’s best for Democrats?

If you’re wondering, the headline cites managerial competence, but the piece makes clear that their actual issue is with his critiques of capitalism.

In 1994, I ran for Student Government Association Representative, on a DEF LEPPARD PLATFORM. You heard that right.

Did I win? Why, yes, I did. Was it sweet to taste? Saccharine? Yes, yes it was.

THIS IS A GOT DAMN LIE, STONEY

We all know there is no “quitting” Levar Stoney’s distribution lists — there is asking, and there is ignoring. Resistance, however, is futile.

(Context: I’ve now “unsubscribed” four times, as has been documented exhaustively/exasperatedly on Twitter)

I’m beginning to think the r/publicdefenders subreddit is actually psy ops for Big Prosecution.

We don’t need vague promises about fighting Trump—we need leaders with a clear VISION and concrete PLAN for defending democracy & the well-being of vulnerable Virginians.

That’s exactly what Jay brings to the table, as was evident yesterday. Learn more about him and I bet he’ll earn your vote, too.
May 19, 2025 at 4:51 PM
I’m honored to be on the host cmte for @jonesjay.bsky.social ‘s fundraising reception this Sunday in Arlington.

Why do I support Jay?

Because he’s honest, smart, principled & genuinely progressive—exactly the leader @vademocrats.bsky.social need now & in the years to come.

Hope you can join us!

It’s not easy figuring out how Flock Safety influences Va. policymakers. In other states they’ve gotten creative—e.g. hiring the mayor of a city they sought $$ from.

Here’s another: sell to HOA, HOA “donates” to police foundation, but donation must be used for Flock ALPRs!
