Love seeing the changing of the guard out in the wild.

Utterly obsessed with the newest Billie Marten album Dog Eared. She's been stellar for years but this is leaps and bounds more captivating than anything else I've heard this year.

Round the corner from my childhood home, and still there today!

Such fun! Here's a photo of it these days, and also of the standalone Watermill pub shortly after opening (in the distance). Also just a cracking bit of local journalism.

New Tube map means new "ewwww" moments.

Tottenham Court Road and Goodge Street now look like they're both labelled to the dash on the Northern Line.

And where is Oxford Circus now? I can't tell what it's supposed to be linked to.

As always information is more important that aesthetics - but jeez.

All that transparently naff "it's going away" marketing just for this weak redesign? Genuinely upset.

This club just does not know when it, is, beaten.

If anyone is worrying about how I'm handling such an important Southend match with the Snooker final - please don't!

Snooker on telly - muted. Speaker playing the BBC Essex commentary on BBC Sounds.

The Snooker World Championship Final has begun!

I have words about it and the state of snooker in today's Observer - grab a copy to read!

The lights around the advertising hoardings on the Elizabeth line can change colour to fit certain adverts - this is very fun! I wonder how much extra it costs.

This was my 10th time seeing Frank Turner.
I've never seen him play my favourite song of his.
He closed with it tonight.
I'm seeing him tomorrow night too for his 3000th show.
Bliss.

As the meme goes: "If I had a nickel for every time I wrote about marketing burgers, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice."

Also, in doing this piece, I discovered that in the "Not for Girls" days, Yorkies in MoD ration packs had these unique wrappers.

Name another piece of stunning early 1900s design, used for industry for decades, then brought back to life so you can walk around for free (okay yes the Tate, but still!). There's still an intense respect for the history of the place. If this is the price we pay for conservation, let's pay it.

I love Battersea Power Station. I have art of it on my wall. When it reopened a few years ago, I was there on the first weekend. I've been to lectures on how they rebuilt the chimneys. I've paid for a tour around (meaning I've seen the illusive Control Room A). It's an absolutely stellar place.

This album is 11 now and that makes me very sad. It's starting big school.

While Meta rowing back on factchecking in favour of "free speech" is undoubtedly *not good*, it's not like Facebook and Instagram are currently bastions of fact-based discussions.

AI slop like this is rampant and becoming more common in every corner of the internet. It's all terribly depressing.
