Books are beautiful, let them be aesthetic. We wear jewelry, so hold books

Books are bodies. Keep hands & opinions off others’ unless invited

Books are safety nets & support devices. Objects we hide behind, cloak within, flirt from. Good.

Snobbery & elitism are performative. They ban things.

Poems are dangerous. If that sounds hyperbolic, take a stab at writing the one that scares you. Worse yet, where will you put it?

Writers are inhaling their turbulence and repackaging it as arrows. How neatly defiant. Language has them looking so tired & fragile. Soggy flannel scarecrows with spilling straw guts. You can put lipstick on them.
We are the scary lot.
