Still the most famous Rock Paper Scissors referee in the world.
I’d love to see higher minimum salaries across the board and then some kind of increased luxury tax (to discourage Dodgers style hosrding) - but it’s hard to argue any individual free agent shouldn’t get as much as possible after years locked into minor league and club control salaries.

Except MLB players as a whole still make the least % of league revenue of any of the major North American pro sports. (47% compared to 49/50/51 for NFL/NHL/NBA).

So depressing salaries just leaves more money to owners of big teams - it’s not like any of them are losing money.

Incredible how wrong this take is. From the beginning the Trek fandom was notable for its significant female fanbase (and also female writers relative to tv norms at the time).

The original series was financed by Lucile Ball who, among other reasons, liked that there was female bridge staff.

Clearly this year was the pits - but you just can't judge multi-year deals on one season. He got injured, it happens.

Just look at the Springer deal or the Moreno and Jansen trades - "worst deals of all time" as well, and I don't think anyone would take do-overs now.

This was exactly the same issue with the talent agency “packaging deals” that lead to the WGA strike. You can’t represent someone’s best interests by putting yourself in a position that financially rewards you directly for paying them as little as possible.

Ugh. Sorry that happened to you. I really enjoyed Terrebonne. Not on goodreads but will award it the coveted “hard copies have survived two moves and several shelf culls” seal of quality!

New players often are helped with characters familiar to them from media to help boot-strap role playing.

Tolkien / LOTR stuff is classic for a reason, but also good is swiping archetypes from things your friends are into (“a Conan”, “a Doctor Strange”, “that tap dancing railway cat from Cats…”)

Not only a spin off - a project specifically because Jay and James were fighting with each other so badly the band was threatening to kick them out unless they could demonstrate they could work together.

You’re not just giving up ai training rights - as written your giving up public exhibition rights, performance rights, licensing rights…
