I don't think I can remember a time where Reaves got dropped hard like that

Chaotix's level design fails because the tether mechanic cannot sustain an entire game.

I find 2D Sonic to be rather inflexible to overarching gameplay gimmicks. They tend to either be underutilized or affect the level design in a negative way. A very tough needle to thread, trust me.

Sonic CDs levels are made for its unique mechanic of time travel + exploration. It's great when you play the game on its terms. In my opinion, the game's main issue is communicating what those terms are, requiring several replays to understand them. At least the game is very short!

I've been using Windscribe for the last 3 years and am very happy with it

We have identical rankings. 9 is incredible. I have to replay it every year.

Thanks for sneaking Penny in there

My big takeaway from playing Prime and then Dread after was how to mask linearity. In 2D Metroid, I'm not a speedrunner/sequence break dude. I'm playing designer's intended experience, which is linear. Like you said, it's the amount of choice in that A->B trip.

You p much have the same feeling on 3D Metroid that I do. It's not for me. When Prime Remastered came out, I was like, "oh tight," and then 2 hours in, I bounced off of it just like I did 20 years ago. On Prime 4's launch day, I played Dread and Fusion again instead lol

REBECCA
"Virginity"
Nothing to Lose (1984)

I lied, one more! When it comes to 80s J-Rock, you can't go wrong with groups like Princess Princess or REBECCA!

Ryuichi Sakamoto
"Ballet Mechanique"
Futurista (未来派野郎) (1986)

Last one for today! I have all of Sakamoto's albums released on cassette and I listen to this one at least twice a week. It's an "album" in the truest sense.

Afrika Bambaataa and Family
"Reckless" (feat. UB40)
The Light (1988)

Grace Jones
"Love Is The Drug"
Island Life (1985)

Grace Jones whoops ass.
December 27, 2025 at 12:27 AM
Alexander O'Neal
"Never Knew Love Like This" (feat. Cherrelle)
Hearsay (1987)

This is a top 10 album for me, man. It's got everything I like about music.

Kendrick Lamar
"Dodger Blue"
GNX (2024)

This track and "tv off" are my favorites off this album. I'm glad contemporary artists are putting out cassette releases again!

Toshiki Kadomatsu
"TSUGARU"
Legacy of You (1990)

One of the greatest instrumental albums of all time, in my opinion. Seek this one out along with his other instrumental albums like, "Sea Is A Lady."
