I must admit i surprised myself at the @defcon.bsky.social Reddit post showing 4 fictional hackers ... I knew all four and had seen their movies 🤓

OK. This is kind of wild.

This is a photo taken with a 3 year old smartphone. The retouching was to more closely white balance the image.

This is NOT fabric. 😉

Yo Hackers!

Ever wanted to access a serial device from an iPad?

Wish there was a cable or dongle to make it work?

Well, there is! It's the RPiZ2W 😎

You can configure it as a USB Gadget so it plugs right into the iPad. Then, with ser2net you can bind a telnet connection to the UART!

This could be a fun social media challenge!

"This" computer is roughly the same age as me

If there is data (regardless of how you pronounce it) there will be a graphic.

My new "Pocket Case" has lots of upper and lower pockets. Most have zippers. Some have pockets within the pockets.

It organizes my charger, power bank, cables, cards, extra currency, passport, glasses, snacks, and conference stuff like wireless mic, ear plugs, soldering kit, give-away, and more!

I took a break from the sewing project because the mental origami wasn't working. I had intended for the "pocket case" to be reversible but I finally realized that was impossible.

Anyway, I've had this Courier Bag for over 20 years and its only flaw is "everything falls to the bottom".

Looks like Apple has done another bang up job with their ipadOS 26.1

Just look at how they “improved this screen font” 😱

I read this as “heat the world using OpenAI” and immediately thought, “yeah, the climate is doomed with the energy sucking LLM servers”.

"Vaporizing" brass with a 200W fiber laser. This should take about 30 minutes. 🤞🏼

Sometimes circuits get too messy to manage microcontroller sleep modes (especially when using 3rd party libraries).

In these cases a "load switch" and "soft latch" circuit come to the rescue.

The "runtime" current hasn't changed but "sleep" has dropped from an average of 395 µA down to 0.1µA.

Gradual tweaks to the laser file for these backs. Color variances are partly the photo but mostly the manual "hand crafted" finishing process.

When did you first really grasp, “just because you CAN do something, doesn’t mean you SHOULD do something”?

The 2026 eChallengeCoin already has full support for CircuitPython 10 🤩

Introducing the 2026 eChallengeCoin !
(code name: “kiss my brass”)

This is the preproduction unit and is fully functional (but not in the way Data claimed). Still lots to do but we are “go” for throttle up!

#politics

The news media seems to blame Earle-Sears' defeat on external forces rather than the candidate's position on issues ...

For example, she is on the record stating "Firing someone from their Job for being gay - 'that's not discrimination'."

I have been working on custom engraved brass coins. I am making some for students working on a special project as part of their CTE program. I also made a pair for friends of mine who do so much for their friends and their community.

At the time Captain America crashed the airplane into the ice, navigation was by ADF (automatic direction finder). ADF uses NDBs (non directional beacons) - often powerful AM radio stations. It wasn’t very accurate at long distances.

The Tesseract was dropped somewhere near the circled location.

The zipper I want to use is not common and I couldn't find it. Since I bought the wrong size and am waiting for the right one to arrive, I decided I would sacrifice the short one to test my plan.

I need a zipper with open is the middle and has two pulls.
