after a while all three of them packed a mountain of sugar in their nest and then left the nest and wandered off somewhere, where probably the noise levels were lower. thus the saga finally ended, I'm grateful for these forest creature sharing the space and life with me 🐜🐜🐜

upd2 - this summer the old wanderer, who barely could function properly already, emerged from his house in my monitor with... two little ant-babies. so, all this time he gathered water for two ant eggs 😳 two new ants were rather warriors, because they ran out to me every time I moved mouse or typed

upd - a month ago the wanderer came back to the nest in my monitor, so now I provide water and food again 🐜 these ants can live up to 6 years and pretty soon it will be a year of the nest on my table

-> I'm sad and grateful to those two guys who shared space with me, 6 months are the long time for a small pet so I was attached strongly to them already. The fallen dude has been sent back to the flower pot where everything started 🌹🐜🐜

-> but time eventually came, one of them got tired of the table and went to search for something far away (I thought he was lost and returned him back to table several times but apparently it was the intention, not the miscalculation), and another one fell as a warrior to unknown reason this week ->

-> we coexisted pretty wonderfully, I provided them water, sugar, cookies and all the territory they wanted, and they explored the table, notebooks, pens, my hands and everything they could reach. Google told me ants can l live from 2 weeks to a year and above, so lowkey I didn't expect a lot ->

I still want to be a marine biologist, kid's dream lives on 😄
