And on the ride over, we decided to name him Apollo. Which is a reference to Apollo Creed, because Rocky is like Rocky Balboa. 👀😂 And now I'm attached because of course I am. 🤣 But just like with Rocky, I know he's meant for the wild, and I'll be happy to see him return to the trees and things~

He was a dazed but sweet car buddy. 😂 I kept him wrapped in my hoodie and held him in my arms the whole way there, and he started purring, which apparently is a response to feeling comfortable and safe so I keep trying not to cry about that because HONESTLY. 🥹

He's suffering from a concussion and they said they will be able to treat him for that, as well as some dehydration. On the intake form I checked off that I want to be part of the release process when he's ready for that.

So, feeling much better about this raccoon's chances, we drove him out to @pugetsoundwildcare in nearby Kent. After intake and preliminary exam, they determined that the raccoon is actually in very good shape~

Just like what we initially did with Rocky, we looked for a wildlife rehab center to see if anyone could help. UNLIKE what happened with Rocky, people were much more positively responsive and said they could take him in, and DIDN'T just say some variation of "he'll most likely be put down."
