You definitely feel the lack of time for the product. I think you could imagine a T.V. show where more time is given to allowing Visi to develop more. Versus the focused video game.

I've been noticing two extremes in media recently and it would be cool for you to comment on it at some point. But media seems to either be "hero loses all the time for high stakes" or "Hero is unstoppable wish fulfillment."

I'd like to see a balance where Mark gets wins because he is stronger.

I don't know my man. I just kept repeating BARS every 5 minutes or so. I thought it was great.

The next evolution is gating monster effects with stats.

5.75 - Monster attacks, it hits, if targeted stat is above the DC the effect either doesn't happen or is mitigated.

The final conclusion is 4e.

Monster makes a special attack targeting a saving defense.

What's interesting if you take the evolution of game design to it's logical conclusion you end all the way back up with 4e's "Saves as a defense."
5e - Monster attacks, forces a save, effect happens
5.5 - Monster attacks, hits, effect happens
While smoother and more efficient, AC is the most import.
