it turns out there's diastatic and non-diastatic malt powder, and the thing i was supposed to use was neither of these, i apparently wanted malted milk powder, which is why the last cake i tried to make blew up like a hot guinness

apparently the climbing gym was experiencing like. route grading inflation. so they put up a bunch of new routes and they're all dead easy. i kind of wish i hadn't gotten the inside scoop on this because it would have been pretty good for my self esteem

i had a sort of embarrassing moment in my interview where i expressed basically disdain for AI and was reminded that actually if you don't specifically ask computers to formulate their answers in terms of like human sentences then they're pretty good at math and shit
