I mostly refer to this as lacking critical thinking skills, although I would hesitate to refer to people as ego stroking. These people have genuine reasons for disliking genAI even if they don't understand it well. Bristling at a word that has become toxic is pretty normal.

I cannot imagine seeing a enemy fail to pathfind to your location and comparing it to the plagiarism machine, its kinda absurd, I get not everyone understands how computers work, but it feels like willful disinformation at some point.
