the irony was not lost on me that if siff tried to communicate his pain, hope, dream in any other way, it’s possible the entire altercation would’ve been avoided but at the same time, the narrative as a metaphor for how reallife can be like for someone trapped by the inability to speak felt too real

in siff’s context, I felt any kind of change was a good change at that point since he was hitting the absolute limit from feeling like communication wasn’t possible and by taking an unprecedented action, the colorless dam had finally broke and even if it had to be the color of cruelty, he needed it

mira was in fact capable of immense anger when wronged, odi showed immense restraint in the face of cruel treatment and isa wasn’t going to let himself be pushed around despite how he felt about siff and it was an incredible climatic moment bitterly showing just how fast the table had turned

the part where causing enough suspicion up until act 4 seems like it’d be enough for odi to figure it all out bc too perceptive (putting into perspective she showed incredible self restraint to not have punched siff out in act 5 bc hell he’d have deserved it if she did bc it was incredibly cruel)

the problem was the lack of ability to communicate and hence metaphorically and literally being completely stuck in time but it must be both precious and terrifying that someone had the ability to see through to him
