Capitalism is when money trickles up and stays there. Billionaires don't care about paying taxes that would help the education system, infrastructure, healthcare, and fight poverty. Billionaires don't give back to the employees or customers that made them successful.

Lake Erie Native American Council In President Trump's unsurprisingly racist remarks over the weekend calling for the Cleveland Guardians to revert to its previous team name, he noted that: "Our great Indian people, in massive numbers, want this to happen. Their heritage and prestige is systematically being taken away from them. ... OWNERS, GET IT DONE!!!!" This damaging and thoughtless assertion is wholly untrue. The Lake Erie Native American Council cannot be clearer in reaffirming that there is no honor for Indigenous people in dehumanizing mascots that reduce us to racist stereotypes. For decades, our community has seen the perilous aftereffects of the desensitization of non-Native people conditioned to see us - consciously and not - as subhuman caricatures rather than as individuals from the strong, thriving, diverse and sovereign tribal Nations from which we come. The Lake Erie Native American Council commends the team's leadership for committing to build its future as the Cleveland Guardians. Over the past few years, the Guardians have worked to strengthen their relationship with Cleveland's Native community following the changing of its team name and mascot. Prior to the name change, the team met with Cleveland-based and national Indigenous leaders who encouraged them to change the name and shared our private and at-times painful lived experiences to illustrate its necessity. We look forward to continuing to grow a partnership between Cleveland's Native American community and Cleveland's baseball team as it moves forward as the Cleveland Guardians. Go Guards!

Most workers have no choice but to move around jobs looking for better pay and healthcare coverage because companies do not care about growing their skills and giving proper raises. Healthcare should not be a job selling point.

Red flags on resumes. Something previous generations did their best to avoid. You stuck with a job, showed stability and worked your way up, but boy, how times have changed. What makes it so easy for young workers to pull up stakes and move on? Why don't they prioritize job security and financial stability more? Maybe, it's because they don't have to. At Uline, young people are resigning before their two-year anniversary at a higher rate than we'd like. We invest precious resources recruiting, hiring and training new hires, only for them to leave. We call them “The Nomads.” Why do they jump around? Free insurance: The Affordable Care Act allows young adults to stay on their parents' health plan until age 26. The unintended consequences are that you quit a job without losing coverage and go where the grass is greener. In addition, parents often pay for their kids' phone bill, car insurance and streaming services. The Pandemic: COVID-19 turned the world on its head. Thanks to three rounds of stimulus checks, people didn't get off their couches to work. It became the norm to “WFH” and not build camaraderie at work. All hell broke loose. Parenting: Many try to be a friend. They show a lot of affection and concentrate on FUN but fail to provide guidelines, rules and expectations that teach personal responsibility. The result is a generation of nomads who have been “sheltered,” knowing mom and dad will keep taking care of them. At some point, you've got to kick them out of the nest so that they can learn to fly. Employers are always on the lookout for young, talented candidates. It's hard to build a winning team when the rookies you sign think they are free agents before they even take the field. Liz Uihlein
