My Jeep’s first road trip — a doozy to Newfoundland, Canada, nine years ago — for my brother who really wanted to shoot Puffins on northeast coast. Here we are headed south because I discovered another bird sanctuary for him to shoot before heading home. It was a grueling adventure by land and sea.

Health issues have kept me from fully enjoying life. With conditions that only strike a wee percentage of population, I am thankful that symptoms can at least be documented with imaging and blood tests. Hope one day to get back to photography, but at least I have memories. Dead Horse Point, Utah

FWIW, Amazon delivery map still says Gulf of Mexico. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But what about the cost (and lack of supply) of eggs and other groceries? I can no longer afford the luxury of straws, paper or otherwise.

Today’s moonset, full moon tomorrow at 8:53am if the clouds cooperate. From my house, I “only” get the setting moon. Was surprised it was so stunning today in the predawn twilight. Photo doesn’t quite capture the real life moment. #photography #moon

Love the bison, though from a respectable distance. 😉

Have you noticed that when Trump is delivering a speech or making remarks and the crowd laughs or claps, he goes off on a riff. It’s like in the movies when someone’s been hypnotized. Just. Plain. Nuts.

Thank goodness for magic slates and new years. Always feels like an opportunity for a fresh start.

I survived 2024. Here’s to a new year.

I have a neighborhood friend who is full-fledged MAGA. We got to know each other during the lockdown as she walked her dog by my house. On the day Biden was declared president-elect, her vitriol exploded. I was shocked because we never talked politics. By a miracle, we remain friends. Happy 2025.

While I was getting Blake Lively news updates, I came across this gem from a man who teaches journalism at my alma mater. I graduated 50 years ago. You cannot imagine how disheartening that my experience of misogyny lives on @northeasternu.bsky.social. His comments and requote tab are turned off.

Went to add items for my grocery order later this week and saw this notice. Apparently bird flu is ravaging farms. 😢

I’m so old I don’t remember what happened to my pretty white Christmas tree from ten years ago. Life changes, iPhone photos remain. 🤍 #photography

Some of my health issues worsened this year. Music has been my salvation. I listened for 31,959 minutes in 2024. What about you? #SpotifyWrapped #music

Zakim Abstract — Sometimes my favorite shots are the quick ones taken without fancy set ups or long exposures. The Zakim Bridge is a favorite of both Boston photographers and tourists. Best to go shooting in pairs or groups, esp at night. #nightphotography

I grew up in the town (Whitman, Massachusetts) where Ruth Wakefield invented Toll House Cookies with an ice pick and a bar of semi sweet chocolate. You can try her recipe published in a Boston newspaper decades ago. Or, instead, go channel Ruth, be you and bake something original. 🥣🍪👩🏻‍🍳⏲️

Several years ago I bought this notebook. I still haven’t written in it. I pulled it out of a pile of blank notebooks the other day. Had every intention of writing. Instead it sits on a chair. No pen in sight. So I took a photo of it. #writing #photography #create #bwphotography

Wrote this in the middle of the night ten years ago. Some things stay the same. Or get worse. #chronicpain #complexpatient #poem

Once upon a time, I had the goofiest Golden Retriever in my life. Yes, here’s Roxy soaking wet after a frosty dip ten years ago. Lost her at 15 yo in 2019. #dogs #photography

Walkers, Mass Ave, Boston, 1970s — #streetphotography is my first love. Went to Northeastern Univ from 69-74. Loved walking the city and late night darkroom sessions in the school’s labs. #photography

Morning Conversation, Bonavista, Newfoundland, Canada — While my brother went birding, I took the opportunity to walk around the Mockbeggar neighborhood that dates back to the early 1700s.
