Thanks for sharing @derekwalmsley.bsky.social. It seems they‘re big fans of Depeche wanting to remix them (!), view the partnership between Alan & Martin as the ultimate marriage in music making as well as agreeing that Pce Freeze2.81 is reminiscent of Breathing in Fumes which they say is amazing.

And please add Dancer In The Dark to the never watch again list. I actually didn't finish it.

As ever, a great read. And the sourcing of those Warhol quotes was revelatory as I have always considered him a complete blank.
I‘m off to watch Executive Action, and Winter Kills.

At the very least it properly places Vera Brandes' name back into history as it was left off the original LP‘s 1975 release for reasons that have never been explained.

And No Time To Die was locked by April 2020.

Astonishing & unforgivable; by making a Bond film more & more a rare event they risk the chance of an underperforming film derailing it even further. Whereas until Licence To Kill you had a new film every 2 years. No matter the prevailing consensus a new one would come along in 24 months regardless.

Like others, have to say Dalton is a top tier Bond. Fully formed, no back-story, a predator, lethal, and the epitome of Fleming‘s literary character. Even with only two films he managed to make a massive impression. He deserves much more respect.

I take your point (a very good idea indeed) but I‘m not sure 13-year-olds can be got. I would love to be proven wrong but they don’t seem to be interested in an adult British spy saving the world for King and Country.

Have you visited Gibert Joseph in Saint-Michel, Paris?

What an absolutely wonderful article. And as a Paul Bowles fan I would have loved to have seen Roeg‘s version.
Where is that Bowles quote from?

Always a sincere treat to hear the team in action @mi6hq.bsky.social (please bring back Madeline Grant!) - but I would love more discussion on what EON had been doing for almost three years before selling their shares?
No script, no director, no actor - surely something was in progress?

Agreed. No excuses really. Especially when @seanlongmore.bsky.social is right there!

Respect to Brian Bysouth who added to Bill Gold‘s amazing work.

Let me interject on your behalf @philnobilejr.bsky.social - or make things worse!

Thanks for the recommendation.
I think my favourite Greenaway is the biographical film by his wife Saskia Boddeke:

Phil Nobile Jr. discussing Bond is always a treat - looking forward to listening.
Did you discuss that since Villeneuve is Canadian that we might see his home country being represented for the first time? Also, more Hans Zimmer and perhaps Roger Deakins?
June 27, 2025 at 12:04 PM
Wonderful! And glad to see High Anxiety so high - I think it is one of his gems. An actual orchestra swelling during a suggestive conversation, and Kahn and Korman’s delightfully unhinged performances to name a few highlights.

What an absolute treat 💯. Also nice to hear Dr Lisa‘s academic perspective.

Congratulations, and looking forward to read.
Is he one of the more articulate directors you‘ve ever met?
March 28, 2025 at 2:12 AM
Indeed @philnobilejr.bsky.social - and isn’t The Gold Rush owned by the Chaplin Estate. Perhaps someone should send them an email?!

Divine indeed. And also a treat when you join the two Matt‘s @philnobilejr.bsky.social.

Now that the swelling has gone down on the shock announcement, I wonder if we can discuss Eon‘s lack of progress after 36 months of work; no story or treatment, no director, and no new Bond actor. Infuriating!
