I saw Jared answer this question somewhere and he did not think Amelia was made up by Sam. But I think he kind of wish she had been.

Amelia not being real is also my most favorite head canon. It’s on my list of fix to Wright one day. This episode is so great. I feel like I could be sitting with you ladies having a cup of coffee or wine, laughing. thank you.

Just listened to this. Great as always! Really enjoying. One thing I saw a bit differently was the resolution. When Sam sees Jess at the end and then (after the pole) she is gone, I took that as him starting to move past the guilt. I’m not sure he has those nightmares again in the show either.
