Old weirdo in Oregon. A system that won't reform will destroy itself.
Thanks for the recent videos. I remember noticing a lot of the crunchy wellness people take hard right turns back around 2012, and a lot of people pretending that wasn't a thing until recently.

This is a lot of "the system will save you" energy.
People are already using improvised tactics and community action, because they know no one is coming to help.

And it was just a very weird recession especially if you look pretty 9/11 so much economic growth was from overvaluation of a few companies and them spending massive amounts of money.
They weren't mature enough to be integrated into the larger economy yet.

By the time ENRON happened we were technically out of recession. Granted that doesn't mean much as unemployment had risen, but not on the levels of 2008 or COVID.

9/11 was also a factor.

Part of it was that bubble excited the investment class, but most of these overvalued companies weren't at scale yet. Like pets dot com had some astronomical value, but they only had a couple hundred employees. It's nothing like an auto plant shutting down in Michigan.

For the dot com crash this was the only recession since at least the 1950s that affected rich people more than everyone else.
2008 & 2020 the wealthy got bailed out through multiple channels.

And for better or worse the new deal saved capitalism from itself. Trust busting a few decades earlier did too.
Unfortunately the ultra wealthy have won the propaganda war, and we're back at gilded age levels of inequality.

This story feels like an AI was asked to write the TV show Scandal as a teen drama, but make every character more pathetic, self indulgent and dumb.

But go on YouTube and you'll find thousands of videos about how feminism ruined a game they haven't even played yet and getting millions of views and never forgetting to mention their Patreon

Today a game needs to sell 10 million copies AND have a post sale monetization plan to be successful.
Parents pay more attention to what their kids play. The audience is broader. Of course it's homogenized.

Wasteland probably sold about 200k copies and was considered a huge success. The development team was like 10 people which was considered huge in 1988.

I'm glad more people are seeing it now. I always had issues with how he talked about Islam, and being a judgmental prick.
I don't remember what the last straw was, but I completely stopped watching him back around 2017.

/democraticparty subreddit must not be the official one. They're calling for Schumer's head and celebrating Mamdani's win.

It started long before that. The first Red scare was in 1917 and it was weaponized by j Edgar Hoover for his entire career.
And even now a lot of the so-called progressives on here are getting it wrong.

You're obviously referencing Marx, but even more obviously never read the context. This was in reference to being the opposite of dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, and only for a transition period.
