I write about digital art, generative art, abstract art, and (occasionally) AI art and photography. He/him.

You can find my write–ups on fx(text) and Mastodon; virtual galleries are on OnCyber and Deca.

I used the general lack of interest in NFTs to collect some classic pieces of generative art that I've had an eye on for some time.

1: Caught in a Void #328 by M. J. Lindow
2: vapour trails #8 by Jeres
3: Shattered Moons #168 by Lionel Radisson
4: Reconnaissance #263 by TENDER x Nat Sarkissian

The weather didn't become any better since I saw your pictures, but my mood did.😎 This phone picture of my balcony should make you enjoy the beaches even more...😂

I wrote an #Artmiration thread about "Torrent" by Jeremy Schoenher (jeres) and "Rückkopplung" by @pxlshrd.bsky.social on Mastodon.

The two artworks engage in an intimate and surprising dialogue about memory and life experiences.

The photo series of pedestrians and passengers on misty roads by Ratnadwip Saha is beautiful.

The soft light of blue hour or shaded sunshine radiates a sense of mystery, and the silhouettes of people disappearing in the distance tickles a feeling of wanderlust.

My new #Artmiration write–up "Stories of Sponges and Survival" is about Paweł Grzelak's hauntingly beautiful and fascinating works "Gemmules" and "Symplasma: Experiment".

Find out how the artist put a spotlight on an unexpected aquatic life form and made it shine!

Love it! Had to think of a picture I made long ago.

Over on Mastodon, I published a thread about the majestic and mythical "Quasi Dragon Studies" by @harvey_rayner.

Why don't you take a look there?

"Rückkopplung #102" is my mint of this beautiful project by @pxlshrd.bsky.social and TENDER art that captures emotions and biographies in beautiful abstract images.

It has pink waves, lots of resistance, a couple of mementos and the ghosts of some moths.

Love it!

The way Midjourney interprets abstract prompts is really amazing to me.

I mean, look what it made of this prompt: "Is happiness a journey or a destination? Feels so fucking tiresome to keep going."

1/ "In Pursuit of Happines" by Lewis Osborne isn't the first artwork to visualize this struggle (watch "Rat Race" by Steve Cutts, for example). Yet the artist's unmistakable looping style fits the theme perfectly!

"Grid in the window" by Schiftcopy is a study of structure and "Arpeggiator" by Pixelwank is a study of colours. Love their simplicity and dialogue.

"Chromacore Cosmos" is a collection of 8 images I created with AI and selectively edited with resolution changes, palette simplification and heavy JPEG compression.

I like the results as phone wallpapers.

I used to roam the streets looking for street art.

@nubplus.bsky.social shares my love for graffiti, stencils and lamp post crocheting. Their latest project "Street Soul" is inspired by it and shows a beautiful blend of layers and styles.

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Studio Captain's allusively abstract art. His latest work "Jawbreaker" captures its title to the point with its fierce red background and the jagged shape.👊

"Mint" by unsleeping_ik is a nice take on the theme of colourful isometric perspective. The stacks of colourful discs not only resemble futuristic cities, but would also feel at home at any poker table.

"Cyanotypes #35" and "Cyanotypes #278" by Leonardo Solaas harmonize by colour and subject with "DIATOMS" and "DIATOMS #017" by @urbandrone.bsky.social.

Both beautifully depict non–existent specimen of existing tiny marine organisms.

Love how recent works by @yepstt.bsky.social look in context:

"Alif" between "SND 01" and "SND 50", borrowing patterns and palettes, breaking the grid with curves; "Cp - Celebrating" linking sandy colours of "delusions#07" to lines of "black N life #8".

More art from my collection that needs to be seen:

"The Grass #8" by @tuukz.bsky.social is an early, unrecognized gem of generative glitch. Suggested by the title, the synchronized dance of lines could resemble blades of grass in the wind that every now and then get blown apart by a storm.

#fxhackathon2023 is about custom minting interfaces for fx(params).

After awesome "How Moons Are Made" by Richard Boeser, I'm fascinated by (somewhat creepy) "Strange Mirror" by mataleone.

Before "How Moons Are Made", Richard Boeser caught my attention with his hyper–dynamic, vibrant project "Zug".

I'm quite happy to have #120 in my collection now!

"Speed of Dark #241" is a beautiful iteration of one of the early TENDER x collaborations. The project was created by Laurent Houdard and is a tribute to photograms and the early days of photography.

Thank you, riiis, for parting with it!

Art from my collection that needs to be seen:

"Quadrangle of My Being #140" by Wanda Oliver

This feels a lot like me. I love how the project is comprised of multiple layers (like we all are) that complement, cover and contradict each other.

Gm!

This project is lovely: "Luck Tiles from the Old Country" by TolstoyPlastic lets you create whimsical tiles with three random symbols on it. It feels a bit like rolling the story dice my kids have. What's your tale for this?
