Car nerd, as boring as the cars I drive
This lil beauty has been punching above its weight for the last 3 weeks, as our only roadworthy car.

Even fitted in a Costco shop.

Not a bad way to spend a summer.

A brief study of cars we didn’t get in the UK.

Suitably French room number.

I’ve passed one of these a few times outside the local Renault dealer, the Mobilize Duo, basically the replacement for the Twizy. Apparently the higher power version will be coming to the UK.

Try doing this in an SUV.

Best guess is, this is a Moroccan number plate. Unless anyone knows otherwise?

You ever see an imported car, and wonder why they went to the effort and expense to bring it here?
It’s no Crown Vic.

Another funny thing is, they can’t call the milk alternatives milk, because milk comes from animals. And coconuts. They get to use milk, the rest don’t.

We use such an odd mix of units, as this flow chart shows. My dad has his climate controls set to °F, because it makes more sense to him.

Using miles for driving just feels natural though. At average motorway speeds, a mile is around a minute, which means you can work out journey times easily.

There’s a quite surprising number of old CRVs on the the Isle of Man, I’ve seen loads of them.

The A4 volume knob is underrated. Positioned passenger side, but easily reached by the driver. Can also be used to skip track, mute or reset the infotainment.

Cummins and spiced potato? I think I’ll give that a miss. Imagine the emissions.

First Microlino I’ve seen, in the queue for the Isle of Man ferry.

Not sure on the 2 tone paint job. Factory option?
July 5, 2025 at 4:41 PM
I’m with you on the wheel downsizing too.
Went with 17s on both these cars, from 18” in the first case and 19” in the second. Vast improvement.

I spotted one of these yesterday, couldn’t get a picture in time, but had to look it up when I got home.
It’s a Healy Enigma, MX5 based.
