“Ahamkara? I have never heard of such a species before. Perhaps you could tell me of them sometime?” There was a hint of excitement in their voice at the thought of it. --->

They dared to take another step closer to her. “I am happy to offer everything I know of the Borg if you are interested in such knowledge?” They went blank at the mention of a species that they hadn't heard of before. --->

“I do not believe I have intact survival instincts, at least not strong ones. Such things were suppressed and overwritten during the assimilation process. What little I do have coming back to me is ragged, frightened urges to hide even though I wish for companionship.” --->

The last thing they wanted was to startle anyone. Listening to her soothed them though. Her logical way of looking at things helped them realise that they had found an open minded person who didn't hate them for what they were and was willing to get to know them a little before judging them. --->
