Burnt out former sales/customer service worker. Parent to two chaos magicians. Let’s unfuck what we can, while we still can.
The skate rated “pro” vans have better arch support/removable insoles you could put your preferred option in. The traditional ones have basically none but they do form to your feet and as long as they fit you right, that can work if you’re comfortable with minimal shoes. I’ve seen wide sizes online

They obviously wrote these definitions to capture as much of the areas they don’t like without touching enough true believers to make them understand how bad the situation really is.

If we were going after real probs we’d probably be doing something at major logistics hubs throughout the whole USA

Thank you for clarifying. So it’s just that an airport itself is a “point of entry” for customs reasons, but not to expect them to be doing things outside of the airport itself?

Do you happen to know what the title is? I’m looking through the website but many of the titles seem similar. Thanks again!

“100 miles from any border“ which includes the coast and possible all international airports? Agreed that it’s complete BS

my mom got stopped in July, the officer attached to the beagle was definitely USDA. Maybe it’s kind of both though given the current CBP overreach.

I’ll seek that out. Thanks!

I felt crappy not being able to do more but there were Reasons that didn’t seem possible. It was still one of those times that doing nothing was also impossible to me.

may i please ask for quick piece of advice - had a weird situation on NYE w/wasted drunk at an underground train stop and kept trying to flirt with someone. she looked scared. I didn’t want him to blow up so I just kind of got between them. she got on a train he luckily didn’t. What’s most useful?

The Milwaukee fastback box cutter with the 1/4” bit driver on the back…

I’m actually annoyed at how much I enjoy it. It can do 80% of my random household tasks.

Outperforms my fancy pocket knife for cardboard, cheap enough not to worry about.

Best $20 I’ve spent on a tool in a long while.

Do you use headphones, Bluetooth, or onboard speaker (it still has one, right? )

It’s almost always norovirus. People regularly end up hospitalized with real flu. Obviously not the majority, but a significant enough number that it still worked as a comparison point for Covid of “x number of people die of flu each year” (45,185 in USA in 2023 for comparison)

I avoid ear pain by using around-the-head strap models. flew from Europe to California, only taking off when necessary, was reasonably comfortable.

Having spares is key for the long haul. Good fit is a must. Try before.

Look at SIP valves, can drink while wearing. They install in any mask.

Michigander friend made it for us using a tall sided sheet pan. 1.5-2” high sides. I know that using good/ sufficient cheese to get the fat up around the edges was part of it, but he may have also added some butter /oil at edges to help with the crisping of the crust in the distinctive way.

At our last apartment, our cat would stand on the tub and use the inner shower curtain like a rain jacket so she could drink water *running off your leg*

New low bed, just edged the corner in silicone at all three heights on the frame and drawer after the great toe-fracture that was the “children’s toy storage coffee table” that one got both us parents bad. took it to the dump iirc.

Only time I had a barber sculpt 10 weeks of growth, I had a looong talk with before them shape things in, with the understanding of minimal upkeep. I’ll have a chance to grow another beard if neutralizing vaccines for modern respiratory viruses. For now, perfecting my wetshaving and enjoying kn95’s

Good News: they won’t be crowded

Bad News: facilities are the first to go. you’re now dry camping/full on pack in/pack out. look at “rocket box toilet systems”. fully sealable, meant to be cleaned. Rafting trips use them.
