one fun time wss free tickets for various draw prize boxes. prizes were like our society coffee cup mouse pad memory stick etc.

good point about community calendars. snd yes, a bigger event like a local history, heritage and famiky history fair. thanks for brainstorming.

my local society hosts a couple of open houses a year but we never put a concerted effort into getting media coverage. so the word doesn't get out well. usually attended by existing members only. how to make us interesting to journalists and easy to write about? make a media kit? what's that?
