So there you have it, our dumbest bug of the year. 2025 only just began, but it would be hard to top this.

Users were DOUBLE CLICKING designs and it never occurred to us. This caused a second UI update to run at the wrong time and broke the page styles. This bug has always existed, but was masked until we made page loads instant.

Indeed, it was. So you see, the team is pretty well versed with Bootstrap Studio. We've been developing it for 10 years after all. And we know that to open a design, a single click is enough.

After reviewing one of the recordings for the Nth time I noticed something. Just a little, tiny twitch of the mouse. WAIT. COULD THIS BE??

Was it due to slow disk access, maybe some rare race condition, or was it Windows Defender blocking file reads again? No, no and no. The team spent hours on this. How could we fix a bug we couldn't reproduce?

Bugs NEVER go away on their own. Users sent us so many screen recordings (we have the best users!) and we went through the entire code base over and over, yet we still couldn't reproduce it.

Then the bug reports started trickling in. Some people's styles were simply not loading any more. It was one of those annoying bugs that had no consistency whatsoever. Only some users ran into it, some of the time, on some machines, and often it went away on its own.

So last month we pushed a sweet update that made loading pages in Bootstrap Studio super fast. This solved so many problems. No more flashes of unstyled content, annoying layout shifts and losing your scroll position. Pages now loaded instantly AND we removed some ugly hacks. WIN
